Our first day in Waikanae

It is Sunday morning, March the 15th
I woke at 7am feeling rested and ready to get on with my day.

oom Wim was up already too- he made me a cup of tea.

Then off he goes preparing breakfast and setting the table.

My surfaces round 7:30
Trees is having a sleep in this morning.

After breakfast mam and oom Wim go to church
I have some time to myself and get showered and dressed.


I try to get contact with the home front
It is all quiet, then all of a sudden I see Marcel come online.
We Skype- so lovely to see my three men 'live'.

Tante Doortje is there visiting.
I see they are eating a lovely appelflap with cream! yum....
Ruud shares some of his through the screen - so funny the darling.

I show them my surroundings and they are impressed.

Leo says he is envious - our weather is lovely and warm and true, it is beautiful here. Our day is starting while theirs is at an end. I understand. I noticed I was having trouble ending the conversation. Luckily Marcel noticed it too and made the break.

I wipe away the tears! 

This morning we are to take a short bus ride to the store for some needed groceries. After that we walk around getting orientated.

We grab some lunch at the local Subway and take it home.
Nice....

Then it is down time- I take myself off to an outside bench and sit quietly updating my notebook, tidy my things and allow oom Wim and tante Trees to spoil me. 

Ome Wim is head chef tonight. Fish, potatoes, carrots and lettuce. A real ' home cooked meal' as I know them to be.

I just know this is going to taste good.
