Our farm stay

At 15:00 we were picked up at our hotel bij Judy Fleming.
She and her husband Norm run a farm stay.
Another tour passenger Tom, mum  and I will be spending a night on the farm.
We received a very warm welcome.

Upon arrival we enjoyed a lovely afternoon tea.
A refreshing cup of tea with a lemon off their own tree ( which doesn't happen at home) and Judy had made a lovely muesli slice.
We are shown our rooms and where the bathroom is situated.
While Judy starts on dinner Norm takes us for a tour around the farm.
Lovely to see the farm at close hand, the sheep, cows and horses.
It is, unlike home, very undulating. That makes the trip in the pick up more exciting.
Arriving back we can already smell delicious odours coming from the kitchen.
Pity I can't add a 'smell here" link!

Before dinner is served we enjoy a pre-dinner drink with some snack like chips, cheese, carrot sticks and a home made chutney of which I now have the recipe.
Time to be seated at the table... dinner is ready!

Home grown roast beef , new potatoes, cauliflower, broccoli, beetroot, courgette,  salad and a rich gravy. We so enjoyed this lovely meal.

For dessert we had we New Zealand's own hokey pokey ice cream  fresh fruit such as melon, kiwifruit, grapes and some home made banana chocolate cake.
DELICIOUS

We return to the lounge to let the meal settle while Judy plays piano
A spot of tv and we are off to bed at 21.30.
Being on the farm it is darker outside than in town- which meant we slept easily.

The alarm goes off - it is 6am
I decide on a nice warm bath to start the day.
Followed by breakfast with yoghurt, tea, milk, fruit and juice.
I even enjoy a freshly laid egg
Just one more photo, a big hug and a thank you to Judy and Norm for their hospitality
