One step at a time

One of my aims was to keep a BLOG. A digital record of our trip- which included the pre-planing. In October 2013 mum's cousin Anita made a trip to New Zealand herself- visiting her children and grandchildren. She kept a BLOG too, which I read for the duration of her journey.

That made me realise what a great medium this was for my children and my husband in particular- but also for all those interested in our adventure.

And because of her experience and obvious knowledge, I contacted Anita to ask her advice. This caused much hilarity in my family.

The boys were astounded to see me - while skyping with Anita, trying to follow her instructions. That is because I am not a frequent user of the computer - my young sons being far more capable than I. Due to their loud reactions I needed to put headphones on - which only caused more hilarity all round.

Although I made headway- including receiving help from my son Leo, it became clear I needed hands on assistance. Anita offered to come over and help me on my way. I was ever so grateful to her for that. She deservedly received a bouquet of flowers.

So that's why I am now able to let my family and friends follow this process and be part of our adventure. So everyone, Welcome to my BLOG!
