Mum's story: part 2

At the Travel Agency

After researching our options together I made an appointment with Sandra, my contact at the Travel Agency where I arrange Herman and my overseas holidays.

We regularly visit Spain and/or  the Greek Islands in the northern winter months and Sandra is a whizz at finding the appropriate accommodations etc.

Prior to our visit asked her to find out what our options were, supply us with quotes and relevant travel information.

Sandra, being the perfectionist she is, mailed me with information which I forwarded to Veronique.

 Henry-Dunant- het Red Cross holiday
 Acruise ship
for special holidays
Trying to plan a suitable time to go to Breda where the travel agency is situated proved a challenge. Veronique works 30 hours a week plus her family commitments and I am a volunteer for the Red Cross and am frequently away one week at a time. We finally managed to co-ordinate our diaries- 15th October.

Sandra made us extremely welcome and that put us at ease.

The options we looked at included a 8 day tour, our wish to spend time with my sister Trees and her husband Wim in Waikanae - just out of Wellington. Travel up to the Waikato - by bus or train. What were our options once back in the Auckland region. And of course our wish to visit with my brothers and other family there. A lot for 3 weeks so tight planning was essential. I was aware that it was going to be a juggling act to fit everything in. Quite scary really. Not to mention, a challenge!

A rewarding task being a volunteer
