The countdown continues

It has been a while since I contributed to the BLOG about our forthcoming adventure. That doesn't mean we have been idle. Mum and I have made lists and have been shopping.

We went to Oosterhout and purchased some of the necessary equipment and travel handies we may need during our stay in New Zealand. We bought a matching warm hooded top. Great colour, right?

And, we have truly started the official COUNTDOWN. Yes, already! Our first planning session started nearly 2 years ago - and now we leave in 9 months. How the time has flown. I have had contact with tante Trees and oom Wim ( mum's sister and brother in law) to pre-plan our dates with them. We needed to check if we were able to stay a couple of nights between the 14th and 17th March 1015. And the response was " bring your togs and save save save"! How cool is THAT? 

We felt it important to be well prepared and as we intend to travel with a back pack it was important to decide on size and quality. The contents all need to fit into this chosen model.

Trying to keep it light

We plan to be practical and well prepared. We are also aware we can purchase forgotten items in New Zealand.

Travel towels, International plug, tramping socks etc etc etc.

Our summer season is starting. Another few weeks and the boys will have the 6 week school holidays. Friends are discussing holiday plans. Due to the impending trip we are having a stay at home summer. That too can be fun and enjoyable.

Marcel and I have sorted the week routine out. I am home from Sunday to Wednesday and work Thursday to Saturday. Marcel is stay at home dad on those days. Great he can spend time with the boys and that we had the possibility to make these most suitable work and at home arrangements..

My gratitude knows no bounds to my boss Cees for making this trip possible - to be away from work for this period. So great he has co-operated unselfishly to let this happen.

We ( all 6 of us) have also planned to visit Schiphol - so the boys can see where mum and my journey will start and finish. Good to get oriented before hand. This really is a trip of a lifetime.

We gaan heel langzaam beginnen met aftellen....

Mooi rood toch....

Het is zeker weer een tijdje geleden dat ik heb geschreven op onze Blog, maar dat wil natuurlijk niet zeggen dat wij niks doen.

Mam en ik zijn nog gezellige wezen winkelen in Oosterhout voor spullen voor onze reis naar NZ.


En hebben we een opvallende trui gekocht.

Ook zijn we al echt aan het aftellen, jullie denken misschien wel van; nu al? Ja nu al! Eerst was het over 2 jaar gaan we naar NZ toe, en nu is het al over bijna 9 maanden.

Hier  moet alles in kunnen.

Ik heb al contact gehad met tante Trees en oom Wim uit NZ of we daar vanaf 14 maart  tot 17 maart 2015 mogen komen logeren, en weet je wat ik als antwoord kreeg? "Neem je je badpak mee en goed sparen he" Zo gaaf!

Iedereen hier is met de zomervakantie bezig, want die begint bij ons over 2 weken. Leo en Ruud hebben dan 6 weken vakantie, ik heb dan zondag t/m woensdag vrij en werk donderdag t/m zaterdag.

Marcel is vrij op de dagen dat ik werk, dat hebben we toch goed kunnen regelen.

Ik ben Super Blij met mijn werkgever Cees dat het mogelijk wordt gemaakt. Wij gaan niet op vakantie nu want ja NZ komt dichterbij.

Wandelsokken, Universele wereldstekker,

handige handdoekjes, enz

We vermaken ons thuis ook prima natuurlijk, en gaan nog een keer samen met Opa en Oma met de jongens naar Schiphol toe.

Zodat de jongens kunnen zien waar mama nou vandaan gaat vliegen. Ze komen dan niet mee- veel te vroeg en een lange dag voor ze.

Ik ga weer afsluiten en tot binnenkort weer.
